Same Day Notification

2/02/2017
Education Queensland’s highest priorities are the safety and wellbeing of students. Parents need to know if their child hasn’t turned up for school and we as a school need to know why a child is absent.
From the beginning of this year, in response to community expectation, the government requires all schools to have a process in place that notifies parents and carers of any student who is absent without explanation.

At Redland Bay, we will use a text based messaging system to do this and as such, all families must ensure that their mobile phone contacts are up to date. Our responsibility is to contact you when your child is absent and your responsibility as parents and carers is to let us know why the student is absent.

You can do this by calling our Student Absence Line
which is a 24/7 answer phone on 3479 4266

Whilst there will be hiccups in the implementation of this process, the intent is about student safety.

Please ensure that all of your current contact details are up to date so that together we can keep your children safe.
